Interior Design: Rock Kaufmann Design
Clients sometimes hire us not to build new homes but to help make better use of the homes they already have. The original layout of this charming midcentury home, built in 1953, featured a series of boxy, contiguous living spaces on the first floor and a compact master bedroom upstairs. An addition built decades later added a dining room and second living room. Without changing the home’s envelope, we converted the addition to a first-floor master suite and removed another first floor bedroom to create a whole new kitchen and dining area. Finishing touches included new trim, doors, flooring, and windows throughout, plus a new living room fireplace.
